Who We Are

Don't Bend Deschutes is a grassroots advocacy effort by residents of Deschutes County who believe in fair representation for all communities—not just the largest one.

We support the geographic district map that will appear on the November ballot. We believe every corner of Deschutes County—from La Pine to Sisters, from Redmond to Tumalo—deserves a commissioner who lives in their community and understands their unique challenges.

Our Mission

Our mission is to educate voters about the district map ballot measure and advocate for its passage. We believe geographic districts are the fairest way to ensure that the expansion from 3 to 5 commissioners benefits all residents of Deschutes County, not just those in Bend.

Why "Don't Bend Deschutes"?

The name reflects our core concern: as Bend grows, county government shouldn't "bend" entirely to the interests of one city. Deschutes County is more than Bend. It's ranchers in La Pine, small business owners in Redmond, artists in Sisters, and families throughout the high desert who all deserve a voice.

We don't oppose Bend or its residents. We oppose a system that would allow one city's growth to drown out everyone else's voice. Districts ensure representation for all.
