What You Can Do
1. Vote YES on November 3, 2026
The district map (Map C) will be on the November 3 general election ballot. This is the single most important thing you can do. Make sure you're registered to vote and that your registration is up to date with the Deschutes County Clerk.
2. Vote for Your Commissioners
Four of five commission seats are on the May 19, 2026 primary ballot. At least 14 candidates are running for Positions 1, 3, 4, and 5. Under the nonpartisan system, the top two vote-getters advance to November unless one exceeds 50%. Your vote in May shapes who will serve on the new five-member commission starting January 2027.
3. Spread the Word
Talk to your neighbors, friends, and family about why geographic districts matter. Share this website. Many people don't know this is on the ballot—awareness is the first step. The message is simple: every community in Deschutes County deserves a commissioner who lives in their area.
4. Attend Public Meetings
Show up to county commission meetings and public hearings. Your presence and testimony make a difference. The new five-member commission takes office in January 2027, and these commissioners will shape the future of your community.
5. Write Letters to the Editor
Write letters to the Bend Bulletin, Source Weekly, Redmond Spokesman, and other local publications. Share your perspective on why districts matter for your community. Media coverage has been extensive—keep the conversation going.
6. Contact Your Commissioners
Let your county commissioners know you support the district map. Commissioners DeBone and Adair voted to place it on the ballot. Thank them for giving voters a voice on this important question.
